British Steel secures Egypt rail deal

LONDON: A UK company has secured a multimillion-dollar deal to supply rail tracks for a major new infrastructure project linking the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

British Steel will deliver 9,500 tonnes of track as part of an Egyptian project to create a fully electrified, high-speed passenger and freight line stretching 660 km, with trains reaching speeds of 249.4 kph.
